Retention Ability on Documents

Feature Request

I can see a list of Document that are connected to Related Parties but If I choose to Archive it archives the Document Type. Could we change this as a way to archive old document instead of archiving the Document Type. Example any files that are over 5 years we do not need to keep in certain document types, while others we need to retain for up to 7 years.

    HI Vania,

    If you are referring to the ‘Documents’ section of the app, which is a central storage where you can find all attachments from within the account in one place - we tested archiving a document from here via the Actions Button and it will move that attachment specifically to the Archived Tab in the Documents section - but it does not archive a Document Type (you cannot archive a document type in ER).

    If we archive an attachment from the documents list, it simply removes that attachment from the list and moves it to the Archived tab. It does not archive the related entity it is attached to, either. And the attachment can still be found attached to that entity if you were to open it.

    So really, the purpose of the ‘Documents’ section is just to have a central hub for all attachments across the account in one place, If a user is struggling to find a particular attachment and they don’t remember what record/entity it is linked to, the Documents section would be a place where they could find said attachment.
